Our legacy is
expensive. Is it worth it?
Heritage is the symbol of a country's past. It shows why a country is the
way it is. Monuments, museums, national parks and many others compose a national
identity and are a truly important part of their culture. But the maintenance
of these legacy constructions is expensive. Is it worth it?
Historians insist on the importance of preserving the past through heritage
so that our historic constructions appear tangible and not only in books. This
way it could be witnessed by future generations and also by foreigners who are
interested in our past cultures.
On the other hand, it can be criticized that the amount of money
spent on the maintenance of heritage can be used for more important matters
such as poverty, education, health and other social issues.
In my view, a fraction or even more of the money should be spent on
our heritage. It is always important to keep our past alive for our own
future.

Senior year - ESSAY SAMPLES
Thank you ladies!
To begin with, it is important to protect the past for future generations. In my opinion, Governments should invest in preserving museums and historical places and documents, keeping them in good conditions to progress as a country because we cannot do it if we do not learn about our past.
Knowing about our history is also a right that we should claim as citizens. Not only do ancient customs represent citizens as a country but also unify them in the future, so it is important to preserve them.
Last, tourism is another reason for spending money on heritage because at the same time, the country will gain money with the expenses of the tourists.
Taking everything into consideration, preserving the past is not only good for citizens' knowledge but also for the economy of the country.

Is it a good thing that countries spend a lot of money on their heritage?
Preserving the national heritage is very important because of cultural,
educational, social and touristic reasons. It also maintains the past alive and
reminds the present and future generations about it.
Regarding preserving the past, sustaining the national heritage is such an
important aspect to know who we are now; as a culture, we have to know and
remember social, economic and historic events from the past.
As far as investing in the future is concerned, coming generations need and
will want to know and learn about the history of their country. Museums and
interactive experiences help young people to get interested in subjects such as
history, art and geography.
Last but not least, tourism is another factor affected by the national
heritage. Tourists are very interested in historical buildings, museums, art
galleries, tours and visits to the principal sites in the city they visit.
To sum up, it is a good thing that countries invest a lot of money in their
heritage because it is very important for residents and tourists of all
ages, it is fit to all kinds of people
